In the Victorian era, flowers were used to send messages to one another, either as a single flower or as a bouquet. I chose to use the definitions I found in the Victorian flower dictionary to create messages that I would like to send to the person who is no longer here. In my first outing after my loss, I went to an arboretum and the first flower that I found was this Zinnia, which means "I mourn your absence."
