I like to paint outside when the weather allows. In New Jersey this means that mostly I can paint outside in the spring when it's not raining and in late summer or early fall when it's no longer too hot. I painted this one in early fall when the flowers were just starting to die, so the colors of the petals were starting to change, but if you look at the leaves you'll notice that they're still so plush.
