Zinneas have always fascinated me. I decided to paint one larger than life to depict the details often missed when glancing at Zinneas growing in gardens. By enhancing the size, one can see the center intricacies to each petal that is opening. The side view shows the bottom structure from which the petals emerge. Removed from it’s surroundings, it does have a quasi-abstract effect.
