Waechtersbach ceramics is a German ceramics manufacturer in Brachttal near Wächtersbach, which was founded in 1832 by the Prince Adolf of Ysenburg and Büdingen of Isenburg-Wächtersbach.
During the early 20th century, Waechtersbach introduced Art Nouveau style ceramics. It made works designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich, Peter Behrens, Hans Christiansen and also worked for the Darmstadt Artists' Colony. Shortly after being a registered company in July 2003, it became part of the Könitz Porzellan company by 2006. Waechtersbach ceramics are widely and currently collective and used as everyday tableware despite closing in 2011.
This blue and white floral bowl is ink marked on the back with the Swans mark. It is the Ysenburg coat of arms between swan heads (1896-1903). Embossed Ysenburg coat of arms upper number defines size, right side letter defines year, lower letter is a mark of former, and left letter defines month. Unknown code key.
