This work is a portrait painting by Harvey Parks, Parks utalized large brushstrokes, complementary colors, and partial abstraction of features to express emotion in his depiction of a man with a white mustache wearing a brown hat against a green background. Like many of his portraits it is done in a style that places priority on depicting emotion rather than accuracy in features.
