Mammoth Peak in Yosemite National Park, (as opposed to Mammoth Mountain the ski area) is a big bulk of a mountain that you can see as you drive between Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Pass. As with most other mountains, it's nice to gaze at, but in climbing it you get the real sense of scale and bulk!
