Statement
I view my work in glass and mixed media as a visual form of storytelling. The narratives within are ultimately personal but my hope is that they resonate with other women, races and people; finding common joys and struggles from cradle to grave. My work is a process of self inquiry, both in my search to understand life, as well as my attempts to explain my personal perspective.
My most recent body of work entitled Out on the Ice, was born of a personal response to profound loss. Out on the Ice presents an "other worldly" state of vulnerability and isolation that can follow life's largest losses, and yet contains the hope, persistence, and resiliency of the human spirit.
My work explores intimacy, gender, emotion and our place within the web of life.
