Born in 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ron Bayuzick is a multidisciplinary artist who is known for his expressive paintings and sculptures made of wood and metal. With a formal background in arts education from Edinboro University and a MFA from Kent State, Bayuzick spent 30 years working as a high school art teacher. He attributes his experience in welding and building engines and hotrods as a contributing factor in becoming a sculptor. Bayuzick was both a practicing artist and educator, and upon his retirement has stayed active in the community as a teaching artist at local non-profits, creating sculptures for community projects, and showing paintings in local galleries.
Bayuzickâs paintings are often large-scale, and characterized by bold color, gestural lines, and dynamic movement, while his sculptures incorporate found objects, both exploring personal and collective histories. Paintings by Bayuzick are in several permanent corporate collections and private collections, and his sculptures have been exhibited throughout the Tri-State Area.
