Impressionism is a style of painting that originated in France in the 19th century and is known for its use of visible brushstrokes, bright colors, and emphasis on light and movement. Based on the practice of painting outdoors and spontaneously rather than in a studio, everyday life landscapes and scenes are typically his subjects. Most of Camp’s paintings depict the varied landscape near his home in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
