This scene is taken from Market Street in Chinatown near 2nd Street. Cable car tracks run up and down the road, and I love how the light from cars add accents to the tracks. Inspired from the lights and glow of the night, I painted this painting in a monochrome blue to emphasize the evening light. Using glazes to deepen the depth, I also added impasto yellows to enhance the lights and reflections from the cars and lamps.
