©Erica Norelius. Fountain of the Tortoises - San Francisco, Oil on Panel, 10 x 8 inches.
This landscape painting was painted on location in San Francisco's Huntington Park. The park sits on top of Nob Hill across from Grace Cathedral. When I was an art student in San Franciso, I would frequently walk to this park to decompress from the hustle of citylife, sketching people while enjoying the bubbling of water in the background. I returned many years later to paint this iconic Fountain of the Turtles, which is a replica of Rome's Fontan della Tartarughe dating back to the late 1500's.
This painting was created on an archival linen panel and painted with professional oil paints. It has also been sealed with a layer of Gamsol varnish to protect and enhance the oil paint. This artwork is shipped unframed.
