"The Wolf in the Weeds" is my ode to serendipity in nature (life-cycles, ecosystems, etc...). In the mid 1990's gray wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park, sweeping changes soon followed. The wolves, along with other large carnivores, thinned unnaturally large elk herds allowing for various types of flora (weeds) to regain footing. This in turn provided habitat and nourishment for a number of other creatures, beavers flourished leading to rivers being redirected and the landscape itself was reinvigorated.
