Description: I drew an anthropomorphized monarch butterfly larva.
The prince's black cloak and mohair embroidery represent the larva's body, which transforms into a chrysalis at the end of a walking stick.
Then, it undergoes a dramatic transformation and becomes a beautiful butterfly.
The larvae that grow up on the Canadian prairies turn from their chrysalis into a butterfly in the fall. Then they begin their "migratory butterfly" life.
Their winter homes are fir trees and pine trees.
They spend the winter warming each other with their fellow butterflies.
They cross the Americas, battling bad weather and other factors, and arrive in Mexico in the spring.
In Mexico, butterflies are believed to be the souls of the dead returning.
Since ancient times, butterflies have been a symbol of rebirth and resurrection.
This is the theme of the work.
Nature is full of mysteries and wonders.
