Copernicus Shift
One day your sword cut pink glass until
the moon blew red
By dusk breath fought with Nine Inch Nails
and a lake that didn’t know what to do with itself.
That evening you rigged me
Hoisted like a storm that can’t be planned
Spewing words that carried my weight
as my body took flight in your skin.
By night we strung tiny lights
reverting me to college dorms
and it’s neon love only sold to youth
Time softened to simple sins
with my salty lip glued to your
chest like dew on dew
As light copied itself on the accent wall you
painted as red as fat hearts.
That day you phoenixed like a city from the sea
And I loved you so much I made you say it in blood inside my now favourite knee.
