This painting serves as a fleeting snapshot of the sensory overload that defines much of the drive between LA and SF through the Central Valley, where the California "dream" of beaches and coastlines is literally mountains away.
In this work, I wanted to capture the beauty in the discarded—the way power lines, pumpjacks, and literal heaps of history slice through the horizon in a passing glance.
