My favorite historic landmarks tend to be those during the Victorian period around the turn of the century. Those landmarks with wonderful stained glass and intricate tile work. The historic Reitz Home Museum is a perfect example of high Victorian architecture in the French Second Empire style. It was owned by John Augustus Reitz who earned his fortune in the lumber business.
The two chairs have custom fabric prints that feature the stained glass designs in the downstairs library and the beautiful cobalt blue stained glass from Francis Joseph Reitz' bedroom, as well as the tile work on a downstairs fireplace.
