Spring storm arriving is exactly what is illustrated here. I was after the dramatic energy one could easily feel outside. Heading off down the road, and pulled over as the air whipped around. The painting was finished as many many cars were lining up to pick up children from school.
When Rosalynn Carter died, looking up information about her legacy, I discovered the Carter Center. Adequately moved I decided to donate a painting, Spring Storm Arriving. The under-painting is one of many of Steve Hessler's early images. He gave 50 canvases to Pittsboro Gallery of Arts to be re-used by the members. I was thrilled as I'm big on recycling and I'm kinda known for my peek-a-boo paintings. Voila! This is a classic peek-a-boo painting.
Written the day the painting was done: Along 15-501 I stopped near the Catholic school. After a couple hours cars were lining up, spewing carbon monoxide as their cars idled waitting for their children to get out of school. I really didn't need another reason to dislike religion.
