Unintended Consequences was started at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic in early 2020. I had a large canvas nailed to my studio wall and my whole family would paint on it to release stress, express and just let go. My two grandsons did the most at that time. After awhile I took over and created a horse and rider work which looked different from this. The rider had a mask on and other elements were different as well, the background color was more green too. The painting showed at The Front Porch Gallery in an Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance juried exhibition with the juror being Maria Mingalone, the director of the museum,
I did the unthinkable for many artists, I painted over it! We are in Dec. of 2022, and I pulled the painting out and decided to go back to town on it. The above photo is the result. I am really happy I chose to do that, as I love the painting now. It is so fun and full of life. The pandemic years were, and are still hard. We are not as isolated as we were, but it is ongoing and people are back to the living, I celebrate this with this work.
