Driving through the state of Washington one day I spied many many fields of tulips. What a spectacular site is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival! They were so orderly in rows by type and color as far as I could see.
I asked myself "what if the parrot tulips escaped?" That question inspired me to paint this silk.
Materials: 16mm Habotai high quality silk, varnished on to gallery wrap canvas enhanced by a beautiful solid wood black floater frame.
