Vitals concerning. Clouds clean the air as they fall? Life-force polluted. Cough! In creating this image about the environment and pollution’s effect on the lungs, I used an x-ray of my lungs and photography I had taken. As I worked in layers in photoshop a ghostly ship seemed to appear in the center. I embrace “happy accidents” in art. Suddenly the meaning of this shifted. Between my kid and myself we lost 5 people we knew in this devastating fire affecting the thriving artist community in Oakland.
