Standing on a patch of bare dirt amidst wet grass on a knoll overlooking Thor's Well in Cape Perpetua, it was hard to imagine the Milky Way with bright, blue skies, a scattering of tightly patterned clouds, and the exploding sunset. Several f-stops, increased exposures, and bumped ISO later, however, it appeared, the vast and complex mass of gas and dust as we gaze on edge towards the core of our own galaxy. Beside the bursts of pink nebulae that were scattered on the trunk was a pentagram of colorful stars immersed in black dust known as the Rho Ophiuchi complex. This is the from Milky Way from Thor's Well: Thor's Forge.
