On the evening of May 11th and morning of May 12th, 2024, a massive pair of Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) merged and slammed directly into the earth's atmosphere, pushing the magnetic fields so far south that Oregon experienced a planetary K-index of 9. The resulting "Northern lights" illuminated the skies for hours and I was at a dark site named Ichwhit or "Bear" park, about 7 miles north of Lincoln City, to film it all. This unique print blends five frames from four scenes in a lenticular print. This print will show a different image depending on the angle you view it from, so that walking past it creates the illusion of an animated frame. You literally see the aurora in motion. Time is the third dimension it captures and makes for a unique way to experience the motion of the aurora from that night.
