Austrian/American artist, Valta Us categorizes his minimalist, conceptual paintings as narratives. This little gem glows from within. The artist captures the big sky at the "golden moment"in this beautiful and serene Montana landscape.
Valta was born in an Austrian refugee camp during WWII. The 14th of 15 children, he emigrated with his parents to Connecticut in 1951.
He studied art several respected schools and received his BFA in 1971, from Tufts University in Medford, MA. He returned to school and received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1980.
Valta is also an accomplished musician and studied classical guitar at the New England Conservatory, and has played in several Rock & Roll bands.
He has participated in numerous one person and group exhibitions throughout the Northeast. Most recently he had a solo exhibition at Mark Borghi Fine Arts and was the recipient of both a Pollack Krasner Foundation grant and a McDowell Colony Residence Grant.
