Rosemarie Beck (Rosemarie Beck Foundation)
Rosemarie Beck (1923 - 2003) emerged in the mid-50s as a figurative painter; she was a beloved teacher and mentor, and a gifted artist.

In June of 1966, in residence at the Yaddo artist colony in Saratoga Springs, Beck wrote in her journal that she was “a little afraid” of her new series of paintings, “Lovers.” But this time at Yaddo, as always, saw her securely launched on the new work, resulting in this beautiful “Two at a View.” Unlike in earlier iterations of this theme, Beck deliberately did not include herself “voyeuristically at the easel”, but focused on the unnamed romantically linked duo and the expansive ocean bay view which they survey.
