Rosemarie Beck (Rosemarie Beck Foundation)
Rosemarie Beck (1923 - 2003) emerged in the mid-50s as a figurative painter; she was a beloved teacher and mentor, and a gifted artist.
MessageIn early May of 1972, Beck stayed at Yaddo. As the mornings were still chilly, she used pastels for her pleine air artworks, instead of the oil paints that she otherwise preferred, and she meditated on her next major Cycle or Series of work, which would center around the Greek mythological figure of Orpheus.
