Painting David Bowie was one of my favorite things to create in the Art Outsiders Series. It was mainly because I had such an affinity for him in everything he did. It could also be that when I was a kid I used to pray that Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King would kidnap me and take me away to the magical puppet whatever world of Labyrinth. Yeah, I was a weird child.

ART OUTSIDERS was a special joint project of artist Tennessee Loveless. In this project, I created portraits of people who were outsiders of their own field of work. From science, music, art, writing, fashion, and beyond, I wrote the stories of each outsider’s life, and imbedded it into the structure of their portrait. Here the piece acted dually as a portrait AND a story, and all of them combined will talk about persevering through the darkest of times to create a different kind of beauty that changed the world.

藝術局外人ART OUTSIDERS 是藝術家坦尼斯的一個特別的藝術計劃。在這個計劃項目中，藝術家為那些在自己專業領域中的局外人創作了肖像。從科學、音樂、藝術、文學、時尚等等，寫下了每個局外人的生活故事，並將其鑲嵌入到他們肖像的結構中。在這裡，這件作品兼具肖像和故事的雙重作用，所有這些都將講述在最黑暗的時期堅持不懈，創造一種改變世界的另一種美。
