Throughout Davis' career, two themes have been explored -the youth culture and disappearing landmarks of the midwest. Using a distinctive acrylic technique with textural qualities suggested by the application of thin, short strokes and spattering together with contrasting flat areas, the artist works for a unity of expression through the combination and control of patterns, textures, color harmonies, and volumes to create strong and moving designs.
