Kennebunkport, Maine artist William Fisher (1891-1985). In the 1920s Fisher was a well-known illustrator with work appearing in the Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, and Harper's. In 1949, Fisher opened a summer studio and gallery in Kennebunkport and in the 1950s he began to live and work in Kennebunkport on a fulltime basis. Fisher exhibited widely and won countless awards for his work. His work is treasured by collectors of Maine artists (including the Bush family).
