
Patty, as she is known to her friends,
works out of her home studio. Most days are spent staring out the window, wondering about shapes, shadows, colors and atmosphere, and how those enigmatic elements weave themselves into what we believe we see.
"More than painting scenes of nature and its seasons, I am dealing with regeneration using the oceanic movement of grasses stained by shadows shifting smoothly over and under the surface. These are touchstones for life and death, birth and aging, failure to triumph."
After graduating from Kearney State College with a degree in Fine Art, she spent the next few decades figuring out how to paint. The results:

Minden Opera House in Minden, Ne. in 2016;
the Willa Cather Center in Red Cloud in 2015;
Norfolk Art Center in 2013, Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer in 2012; and Lux Center for the Arts in 2011.
She has also participated in yearly exhibits at The Burkholder Project.
Permanent collections include the Museum of Nebraska Art and Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art in Nebraska, as well as private collections scattered across the globe.
