An artist active in both Omaha, Nebraska and New York City, Milton Wolsky was known for his magazine illustrations as well as for abstract paintings, one of which caused a lot of controversy in 1964 when it was chosen for an award in the Governor's Invitational Art Show. One of his best known works was a paint-splashed pair of jeans mounted in a collage titled Omaha-6994.

He was a graduate of the University of Omaha and then studied four years at the Chicago Art Institute. From 1946 to 1954, he lived in New York and studied with Hans Hofmann and Julian Levi and became a noted magazine illustrator.
