Braiding is really an art form. It is like working on a loom or making rope. In each family, girls do braiding as a hobby and are very good at it. They very rarely make a living at it.
In some societies it is a profession. In my hometown, it is part of the social structure in everyday life. Watching my daughters braiding each other’s hair and their friends with the most joyful facial expression made me understand the soulful way of giving a gift to a friend without any expectations.
I am grateful to be surrounded by this friendship and receive my theme from it.
