Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go. Hermann Hesse
Going for your dreams, catching and holding on to them really is a good thing. Or is it?! There is nothing wrong with chasing your dream and be straight forward about it. And there is more to that. The world around us is constantly changing, and so are we. Therefore our dreams could change, too. Not the big ones, the reasons we are on this world, but the smaller ones. They might change.
If that happens, do not hold on to these dreams. Let them, set them free.
My artwork „Catch and Release“, with its connected and loose elements and shapes, was inspired by a walk by the lake where I watched a fisherman catching fish and instantly putting it back in, and I wondered about thoughts, things and dreams I could possibly release as well as the fisherman released the fish back into the water. Like my other paintings it is a square format and consists of various colorful, contrasting layers of acrylic paint, ink and charcoal. On your wall, it reminds you to revise dreams, thoughts and pocession from time to time. What is still serving your purpose?
