The Alaskan countryside is always beautiful, but it is especially so in the fall. The lichens that cover the tundra above the tree line come in many colors and are at their brightest in late summer. When the tree leaves start changing too, it just adds to the display. When we were in Alaska last fall, this was one of the places that we went on our very first day. It’s very easy to see why people fall in love with the country up there. This photo will always be a reminder to me of a wonderful trip in a fabulous wilderness.
