The artwork depicts an intricate and detailed rainforest tree with intertwining roots and branches, blending hues of green and brown. The tree dominates the scene with a textured bark and lush foliage. In the lower section, there is an inset featuring a vibrant plant with pink flowers and green leaves, providing a pop of color and contrast to the organic texture of the tree. The composition highlights the natural beauty, complexity and fragility of the cloud forest environment.
The painting hangs from a branch with leather straps suspending it on the wall. This work is on a heavy watercolor paper that is treated in a way that makes it sturdy and feel like fiber.
While visiting Monteverde in costa Rica on a beautiful blue sky day we learned that days like this are all too common now. It is supposed to be misty or raining in the cloud forest. Climate change is changing environments for plants and animals... including us!
