White herons seem like dreams as they stand on the edge of the lake. Their stillness and white feathers reflect in the water. This glass panel features a woman, with her eyes closed. White herons merge with her hair which flows with the wind and water.
Imagery was constructed in layers using multiple techniques and trips through the kiln, firing at temperatures exceeding 1400 degrees.
Her face and the herons were created with ground cobalt glass built up through veils of color and kiln firings on an initial ground of white glass. The surface texture of gray blue flowing glass lines was created by drawing in the air with molten glass as it flowed from the kiln.
