“Happy Springtime in Blue” was such a joy for me to create. I was singing a little song, “Happy, Happy Springtime” in my head the whole time I was painting it! I had learned the song long ago as a little preschool girl in Sunday School at Dalewood Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. The windows of our classroom were wide open with warm spring breezes making the sheer white curtains flutter. There was a creek a few feet from the window that gurgled happily as we sang. Those happy childhood memories are embedded deeply in this painting! I hope you can feel it too!
