Tau is composed of three forms: a red neon line, a black sphere, and a circular distorted mirror. Together they create a minimal landscape of light, reflection, and absence.
The work references the tau protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease, whose disruption of neural pathways alters perception, memory, and identity. Each element represents a different condition of the mind: illumination, opacity, and distortion. The red neon suggests a signal or pathway, the black sphere an interior density where information collapses inward, and the mirror a fractured reflection of the self.
In the space between these forms, the viewer encounters shifting images of their own body and surroundings. Tau becomes a meditation on the instability of perception and the fragile architecture of memory.
