1549 Matthew-Tyndale 2nd Ed Bible Luke 22 vs 39 Mt. of Olives to match Albrecht Durer's 1560 etching (also in my collection): 'Christ on the Mount of Olives (Agony in the Garden)'
A Bible leaf (plural: leaves) is simply a single two-sided page or sheet taken from an ancient Bible which could not be sold as a complete Bible, because it was already missing many pages when acquired. All leaves come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the founding Director of the World Bible Society.
Please understand that all of the Bible leaves we sell are ANCIENT GENUINE ORIGINALS.
These leaves are NOT “copies” or “facsimiles” or “reproductions” or “replicas” or “reprints” or any other synonym for the word “fake” you care to use. The Bible leaves are the real thing: ancient pages of scripture produced many centuries ago on movable-type presses, so no two are the same. They are one-of-a-kind antique printed art. Each leaf was once part of an ancient Bible, treasured by generations of owners for centuries.
PLEASE NOTE: Bibles are not torn apart to sell them by the leaf.
The supplier is the largest RESTORER of ancient Bibles in the world. They buy “leaf fragments” and use the leaves to complete ancient Bibles that were not complete. The leaves that are then LEFT OVER from this restoration process are sold by the leaf. The leaves are therefore a by-product of Bible restoration, and NEVER a product of Bible destruction.
