MessageThis new series of oil paintings dates from the second half of 2019. The works focus on the importance of the original line drawing where the line itself stems from the innermost urge to dance. Dancing is traditionally an exploration of the entire body's relationship with the physical universe within which it finds itself. In terms of the visual artist, the dance is concentrated within those several appendages of the body that hold a recording instrument, such as a pencil, pen, or paint brush. While dancing can incorporate all of the human emotions from ecstasy to anguish and pain, in my work the emotions appear to becoming from a mixture of inquisitive exploration, joy and amazement in this network within which we find ourselves. The Dance Series continues into the present.
