Martsolf, born 1949, in Kansas, lived his early life in western Pennsylvania, and moved to New Hampshire at the age of 12, where he currently resides.

This is the first painting of the series where the line drawing officially plays a major role in the finished work. Its immediate precursor "Carnivore" did so as well, but was based on a sketch from 1979.
This work was painted on gallery wrapped canvas, requiring no frame. The sides have been painted. The piece is wired and ready to hang.
