As a figurative painter at heart I tend to personify everything I see. I was on a walk contemplating friendship after my partner's good friend passed away and came across a beautiful rose bush in bloom and each blossom seemed to have a relationship with the others among the plant. They seemed to be flourishing because they had each other. I collected reference photos to work from and while creating this particular painting, I felt that although friends may not always be around, we still feel their presence and flourish in the strength in knowing our connections with others exists.
