The Paki is the solo singer of the Jahuay songs/genre. The Paki's transmitted through song the traditions, cosmology of the Puruah people. They told of the their the dieties and their day to day life. They also warned the community of abuses that certain member were suffering during from the land owners.At times the solo singer also told of the romances and deceptions within members. This tradition and knowledge was passed down from father to son, The maintaining their peoples knowledge for at least 500 years. Recently this has been in danger of disappearing, because of changes of agricultural advances, immigration, religion, etc.
