The central panel shows a dark and watery space with a heavy feel. But around this base other panels break out with colors and shapes full of energy and light. Encircling the composition is a golden ring, symbol of an eternal promise: our sorrow in the darkness will be made into joy like the morning sun arising.
From the Book of Psalms:
Out of the depths I call to you O Yahweh. O Lord hear my voice. (Ps130:1)
My tears have been my food day and night. (Ps42:3)
Weeping lodges for the evening but in the morning comes rejoicing. (Ps30:5)
Deep is calling to deep at the thunder of your waterfalls. (Ps42:7)
O Lord you have brought my life up from Sheol. (Ps30:3)
You have turned my wailing into my dancing. (Ps30:11)
