I have experienced the phenomenon of visual migraine. It's a headache without the pain but with disturbing visual patterns and flashing colors. It makes having eye contact in conversation, or trying to read and write very difficult until it passes. This painting explores what that can look like from the inside. It was also completed around the time of a total eclipse travelling across the USA, so there's also that mash-up of imagery.
