This mural of Festive San Antonio was created on commission for one or more of the Walmart Stores in San Antonio by Now Art LA Public Art Agency. It shows the iconic Alama historical site and a scene that captures the spirit of the Annual Fiesta Festival where flowers, parades, fireworks celebrate the embedded Mexican culture.
Like all the Walmart murals they are created in the studio at a fraction of the displayed size as paintings, then scanned in high resolution and sent as digital files for remote full size printing and installation. In many cases, such as this one the final mural is sometimes not the first painting created for the commission. In this case, an alternate version of the work was created, then the digital file was 'repainted' partially for the final mural.
