A functional test of Crickets, an interactive musical kinetic sculpture. Each 'cricket' sends infrared signals to neighboring 'crickets', allowing them to all chirp in unison like crickets in the wild. When viewers approach each individual cricket, that one goes silent. Crickets is also like an inside-out computer, where viewers act as the 'bugs' in the system, changing the chirping pattern as their bodies block signals being passed from cricket to cricket.
