When confronted with a beautiful vista, how do I focus on one aspect to render? It isn't easy and I struggle to simplify my paintings. There are so many attractive elements in front on me, I find it really hard to narrow down.
In this scene, I liked the way the river curved around the bend making me wonder what was behind. If I redo this in the studio, I will likely open up the far trees to allow a bit of a hint of the land behind.
