The Vault: Marilyn Henrion - Impressions
- August 06, 2022 - September 03, 2022
Artist Statement
"This series of works, entitled Impressions, was created in 2021. The works are composed of my own digitally manipulated photographs which are printed on linen, cut apart in random strips, re-assembled as collages on stretched canvas and framed. Inspired by my surroundings, whether at home or during my many travels, the work symbolizes the rich visual impressions one experiences while moving across a landscape (or cityscape), capturing the abstract essence of a place that lingers in the memory long after the sighting of a specific scene. I am represented in the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Art and my works are included in museum, corporate and private collections worldwide."
