Merged II: A National Juried Exhibition of Collage and Assemblage

Merged was an exhibition of original and unique collage and assemblage artworks, including mediums such as found objects, recycled materials, paper, fiber, wood, metals, and more! Merged was juried by Andy Harris.
Wood artist David Bowers from Pataskala, Ohio will be featured in The Vault during the Merged II exhibition!

The Merged II call reached 41 states. 170 artists submitted for a total of 629 submissions. 56 pieces from 42 artists from 22 states were selected for the show.
Juror Biography: Andy Harris is a Norfolk-based artist and arts educator that graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA. His current studio is located just outside the Railroad District in Park Place, Norfolk, his classroom in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools district at the Edward E. Brickell Academy for Advanced Academics and Arts. Andy Harris is a collage artist and contemporary painter. His recent collaborations with Apple, Platoon, and 1983 Creative have produced a body of work that has been used for multiple single and full length album covers, as well as transformed into an augmented reality listening experience which is the first of its kind. His work can currently be seen throughout Europe on billboards and flyposters as a broad visual campaign for artist Jevon and his latest release Fell In Love In Brasil. Andy is currently working with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in an effort to bring education and awareness to local oyster conservation efforts in the Tidewater area. This partnership is the basis from which Harris has produced three large scale collage works currently on Exhibition at Virginia’s Museum of Contemporary Arts. The group exhibition is titled Nourish and runs through June 8th, 2021.
