Flourish: A National Juried Exhibition Featuring Floral and Botanical Artworks

Artist Statement: I am an intuitive artist, therefore I approach my work differently than many. I react, rather than initiate. I rarely have a plan and I have no formal training. If one were to categorize my work, I might be called an Outsider, Brut, or Naive Artist. An impulse may be triggered by a flower; I follow its lead. I take the photo, usually manipulate it a bit in PhotoShop, print and begin exploring again. The pen begins its unmarked journey across the image until it speaks for itself.
